Olga Katz, MD

Dr.Olga Katz, MD

Dr.Katz is a Board Certified Psychiatrist with over 15 years of experience in diagnosing and treating adults, children and adolescents. Dr.Katz has completed Specialty Training in Developmental Psychiatry at Maimonides Developmental Center where she later worked as a Staff Psychiatrist. She also supervised a team of clinical social workers, staff psychiatrists and psychiatric residents in training for a patient population of developmentally disabled adults and adolescents with concomitant psychiatric conditions at Richmond University Medical Center, Staten Island, New York. Dr.Katz has maintained a private practice on Staten Island since 2000. She is a recipient of several awards, including “Patients Choice Award ” 2007-2010

Svetlana Beskina, DO
Psychiatrist/Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist

Svetlana Beskina, DODr. Beskina received her undergraduate degree in Psychology at Columbia University where her interest in Psychiatry emerged. She went on to attend New York College of Osteopathic Medicine where she completed her medical education. She completed her Residency Training in Psychiatry and later a Child Psychiatry Fellowship at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. Dr. Beskina is published in the Journal of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. Dr. Beskina has expertise in diagnosing and treating a range of mental health issues and psychiatric conditions in children , adolescents, and adults. She takes a person-centered approach and uses an approach that is consistent with best practices in the field of Psychiatry.

Dr.Beskina is Board Certified in Adult Psychiatry by American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.

 

Roberto De Paula, M.D.
Psychiatrist

Roberto De Paula, M.D.After finishing a two-year residency program in Adult Psychiatry, Dr. Roberto De Paula undertook a Fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at New York City Mount Sinai Hospital, followed by an assignment as Senior Instructor in Mount Sinai"s Department of Psychiatry.

Parallel to that assignment, Dr. De Paula also became a consultant in the Pediatric Department at Sloan-Kettering Memorial Hospital and an Instructor in Psychiatry at Cornell Medical School.

At Cornell, Dr. De Paula assisted in the planning and establishing of the new subspecialty of Psycho-Oncology and was guest-lecturer in this new field at several International Medical Conferences (Brazil and Mexico), stressing the need for psychological intervention and treatment for patients (and their family members) diagnosed and treated for all types of malignancies. Dr. De Paula published articles in different medical journals on the subject of malignancy and the emotional component of the illness. He also wrote a chapter in a Child Psychiatry book on the issue of “ Hallucinations in Childhood”. Dr. De Paula became involved in International Medicine coordinating medical events overseas and affiliations between different Brazilian hospitals and New York Presbyterian.

Presently, Dr. De Paula provides consulting work in Geriatric Psychiatry at Nursing Homes. Dr. De Paula is fluent in English, Portuguese, Spanish, Italian and French.

 

Ana Luz Marzal, MD
Psychiatrist

Ana Luz Marzal, MDDr. Ana Luz Marzal graduated with honors from the University of Santo Thomas with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry. She obtained her medical degree from the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery at the University of Santo Tomas in the Philippines.

In 1991, the cataclysmic eruption of Mount Pinatubo in the Philippines affected the physical and mental healths of many people. Unfortunately, mental health services were not readily available at the time. Thus, people endured both physical and emotional pain for a prolonged period of time. In this environment, Dr. Marzal became interested in pursuing a career in psychiatry in order to help people recover from various mental and emotional trauma. She completed her postgraduate residency training in psychiatry at St. Vincent Medical Center in Staten Island, New York. Dr. Marzal has been practicing psychiatry with the New York State Office of Mental Health since 2005. She has extensive experience with forensic and dual diagnoses patients. Dr. Marzal is also fluent in both Filipino (Tagalog) and English.
